Gorgeous watercolor painting of Gibson girl by Edmund M Ashe. American c.1867-1941. Approximately 26" x 21 1/2" WITH the frame & matting. WITHOUT the frame it measures 18 1/2" x 13 3/4". Signed lower left E. M. Ashe. Ashe was a painter, illustrator, teacher. He was born in Staten Island, NY in 1867 and died in 1941 in Mt. Pleasant, SC. He also lived in Westport, CT in 1905. Delightful watercolor painting of Polly from Barbox Bros. Signed right center "Kyd". "Kyd" was the name used by Joseph Clayton Clark. Clark was a British artist who knew Charles Dickens and did drawings for Dickens' books. He also painted at the Royal Academy during the 19th century. He died in 1885. Without the frame it measures 7" x 4 3/4". With the frame it measures 14 1/2" x 11 1/2". Very good condition. I believe it was reframed at a later date.

Wonderfully executed watercolor painting by Amy Cross of a Dutch mother and son gathering wood for the fire. Approximately 13 1/2" x 9 1/2" WITHOUT the frame. With the frame it measures 18" X 14". Amy Cross was a New York painter. She lived from 1865-1939. She was a pupil of well know artist, R. Swain Gifford. She was a member of the New york Watercolor Society and won various medals through her years of painting. Very good condition.
